However, the kernels *do* support UDMA 33, and I've got an older Abit
board (BX6 v2, with UDMA 33 only) with a UDMA 66 hard-drive plugged into
it, working perfectly well with the Linux UDMA 33 support. So I guess my
answer would be "settle for plugging your drive into a UDMA 33 channel for
the moment, and wait until UDMA 66 support for Linux arrives" (I don't
expect it to be that long now).
