NO, it will not work with *any* type of Winmodem. You must purchase a real
modem. Dell will sell you one. I believe there is only a $20 price
difference. You will, however, see a performance increase since your CPU
won't have to take the load of the missing hardware that a Winmodem doesn't
have.
I'm my experience Winmodems are even quirky under Windoze. Spend the few
extra bucks. You'll be happier down the road. Trust me! ;)
