Installing RH 6 via FTP (or trying too) on a AST Ascentia 910n. there is
no CD.
Get to the put in PCMCIA disk part and get this once the PCMCIA supports
loads..
cardmrg[13]: starting, version is 3.0.8
cardmrg[13]: watching 2 sockets
cardmrg[13]: Card services release does not match!
...
cardmrg[13]: initializing socket 0
cardmrg[13]: socket 0: Longshine Shinenet LSC8-534 Ethernet
cardmrg[13]: module /tmp/pcmcia/lib/modules/prefered/net/8390.o not
available
cardmrg[13]: executing: 'insmod
/tmp/pcmcia/lib/modules/prefered/pcmcia/pcnet_cs.o'
cardmrg[13]: + /tmp/pcmcia/lib/modules/prefered/pcmcia/pcnet_cs.o:
unresolved symbol ei_open
cardmrg[13]: + /tmp/pcmcia/lib/modules/prefered/pcmcia/pcnet_cs.o:
unresolved symbol ethdev_init
cardmrg[13]: + /tmp/pcmcia/lib/modules/prefered/pcmcia/pcnet_cs.o:
unresolved symbol ei_intertupt
cardmrg[13]: + /tmp/pcmcia/lib/modules/prefered/pcmcia/pcnet_cs.o:
unresolved symbol NS8390_init
cardmrg[13]: ismod exited with status 1
cardmrg[13]: executing: 'modprobe pcnet_cs'
cardmrg[13]: modprobe exiting with status 2
cardmrg[13]: get dev info on socket 0 failed: Resource temporarily
unavailable
Could this be a hardware prob with the laptop or the card? and yes it is
a Longshine Shinenet LSC8-534 Ethernet card :-)
