Hi,
I'm trying to install RH5.2, and I had my mouse working fine until last week
(I've been trying to get my dial-out working for weeks, off and on, with some
limited success). Now, my mouse doesn't work at all. I have a
Logictech/Firstmouse with two buttons and a wheel.
I check
setserial /dev/ttyS1
and get back a message that the device is in use or busy.
I check
setserial /dev/cua1
and
setserial /dev/mouse
and they both refer to the same UART, ioport address, and IRQ, so it seems that
the mouse is pointed in the right direction. I also get no mouse response in
either X-windows or out.
I have tried using mouseconfig to set my mouse to every type of mouse listed in
the menu for mouseconfig, and for every serial mouse I have tried all of the
/dev/cua# options. I borrowed a Micro$oft mouse from a friend to no avail, and
I have checked to make sure that the all of the connections are tight.
I don't know what I could have messed up. The day before I had made a change in
my bios settings and things were working fine, but then the next day they
weren't. I *think* the only change I made there was trying to point my modem to
IRQ 10 (since I had been having a conflict between it and the mouse). But now I
have changed that back but to no avail. I've also given my bios settings a
pretty good look over and don't see what else I could have hosed up, but I'm no
expert at such tweakings. Also I now seem to be having a conflict between my
modem and something else (given the slowness of my response times). And now my
mouse doesn't work.
So I would really appreciate any help that I could get in this regard. Thanks
for any help you folks can muster,
Pat
