X fails to start 1st time

Hi

After a 'halt' X crashes the first time I try to start
it (startx). The 2nd time it comes up fine. 

Standard error output:

_IceTransSocketUNIXCreateListener: ...SocketCreateListener() failed
_IceTransMakeAllCOTSServerListeners: server already running

** WARNING **: Cannot establish any listening connections

Does this look familiar to any of you?
