Alps and Oki Printers

First of all, does anyone know of a Linux Driver for the Alps 1300?

Secondly, I have set my Okidata 6e up following instructions I have found on the net, and it will not print. The printer starts to warm up and the light flashes when I send data to it but they stop after a few seconds and nothing prints. Here are the relevant details;

Redhat 5.2
Okidata Okipage 6e LED Page Printer
Bi-Directional IEEE-1284 Printer cable
Setup using printtool
-set as HP laserjet 4/5/6
-send EOF is on
-Fix stairstep is on
Print jobs from the printtool or other programs all have the same result.
Trying to print directly to the port has the same result.

I have searched Redhat and the internet for answers and have not come up with any good results.
