1. I've done the same thing. I just did another custom install and made sure that EVERYTHING that I may need was selected.

2. Also, when I did this I found a few things that I wouldn't have remembered to install by hand. Another way would be to use gnomeRPM from the gnome desktop (make sure you're logged in as root).

I still prefer 1. Good luck.

Like a idiot, when I did my install on 6.0 I did a custom and DID NOT select any of the Compilers or Development stuff. This is bad, obviously, as I cannot install stuff from source now. How the heck do I install all these things that need to be installed?
