hello redhat-install-list Readers
i'm planning to install RedHat 6.0 on a PC with Mylex DAC960 2x4Gb Raid
adapter
(with an Adaptec ultra wide SCSI)
i read on RedHat FAQ that the "/" partition cannot be installed on raid
disks.
is this proper to Linux or specific to RedHat install program ?
as im new to this kind of devices, i have another question :
what can do these raid adapters with Linux ?
total mirroring of one disk to another ? disk "interlacing" ? (maybe this
word is not english,
my english is Beta 0.0.1!! ) ex: my 2x4Gb appear like one 8Gb disk, but
first
logical cluster is the first cluster of physical disk 1, second logical is
the first
cluster of 2nd physical drive
any help would be greatly appreciated
Best Regards,
Christian
