The DNS server cannot resolve stuff, but other clients can?
Also, dhcpd doesn't do dynamic-dns currently, so at least
that much shouldn't be working.
I'm pretty confused now.
Starting only with getting the DNS server (timegate) right itself...
1. Check to make sure named is running.
("ps ax | grep named")
2. You are restarting (SIGHUP) named after any edits, right?
3. Post your named config files. (if you don't mind)
4. Post /etc/nsswitch.conf and /etc/resolv.conf
(I think you did this, but check this server's copy.)
