RE: where is the truth ! (RedHat 6 and Mylex Raid Arrays)

The HCL is referring to software raid, not hardware like the Mylex. It
would be impossible for the root partition to be mounted on a software raid
disk since linux needs to be running in order for it to access the raid SW.

Subject: where is the truth ! (RedHat 6 and Mylex Raid Arrays)

hello,

i'm desesperately looking for some help
i would like to install a RedHat 6 on a intel Server with Mylex DAC960 Raid
Array
i only have this controller on the server

i found in the redhat hardware compatibility list that Linux
can't be directly installed on Raid Disks ( mount point / cant reside on
this device )

on the contrary, the authors of the Mylex driver told me it could be
possible
and the Mylex support team said that Mylex arrays are compatible with Unix
(no more info)

where is the truth ?
i can't contact redhat support since i have not purchased the redhat
distribution
yet...and i'm sure that Windows NT support this kind of device !

someone succeded in installing RH6 with Mylex ?
thanks in advance for your advices
Regards,
Christian
