FWIW, the DDO notice no longer appears at boot up.

Ok, while trying that, I see my mount specs. have disappeared.

To the best of my knowledge, I didn't baby sit the install for the
entire three hours though. It was a clean load, the install program
requested the re-boot.

No, I get:
LI
LI

Hmm, how could I do that if I can't get to a root prompt?

Prior to install I made two floppies, one is called boot. img, and the
other rescue.img, and before the completion of the install program, I
was instructed to make another boot disk, which I did. I've tried all
three, to no avail.
Let me reset my mount points, and finish running RH fdisk, maybe that
will fix things
