Word of caution about the following -- I'm a complete newbie; however, I
had the exact same problem --- system would lock after the screen prompt "LI ".
I was installing Red Hat 6.0 over a previous install of SuSE. Everything
in the RedHat install looked fine; however, I had the same problem as you did.
My solution ... delete all of the partitions and re-create new ones.
Everything worked fine.
