I have a an Iwill 2930c SCSI card which I am trying to get my RH6 box to
recognize. I'm not exactly sure how to go about it. This Iwill card uses the
Advansys chipset, and the necessary modules, as far as I can tell, are:
/lib/modules/2.2.5-15/scsi/advansys.o
/lib/modules/2.2.5-15BOOT/scsi/advansys.o
/lib/modules/2.2.5-15smp/scsi/advansys.o
/usr/src/linux-2.2.5/drivers/scsi/advansys.c
/usr/src/linux-2.2.5/drivers/scsi/advansys.h
However, I don't know exactly what I am supposed to do about it. Is it just a
matter of adding one line to /etc/conf.modules, or does it require something
more, such as recompiling the kernel?
If you could point me out in the right direction, I would be grateful.
Also, as soon as I get the card recognized, I will need to get the external CDR
drive connected to it, recognized as well. How do I tell the system that it
has a new CDROM device attached to it? Does it recognize it automagically once
the SCSI card is recognized? I am guessing that is probably not that simple.
Thanks, in advance.
