Try downloading the version of Xconfigurator that should be in the same
directory you downloaded the new XFree86 files from.  It will be setup to
correctly handle the new files.  I had this problem in the past.
Xconfigurator will simply die with a segmentation fault if you use the wrong
version.  Hope this helps.
