adaptec 2940

Hi

I am  using Linux Redhat 6.0.

I have a 2940UW adaptec SCSI controler but it is not recognized at linux boot 
time: it says scsi hosts:0 

Does Redhat 6.0 support this kind of controler or is there a special driver to 
install ?
