Hi there!
A complety Linux-newbe I am.
I'm running
Red Hat Linux release 6.1 (Cartman)
Kernel 2.2.12-20 on an i686
I did the starndard server install path.
On the console (?) I now and then get:
> scsi MEDIUM error on channel 0 id 0 lun0 CDB...........
> i/o error dev 08:05 sector 557328
> Additional sense indicates unrecovered read error recommend
> reassignment.
I've been searching for a log somewhere to hold messages like above.
But I can't find it - if it's really there!
'Reassignment' - what does that mean - do I have to reformat my HD or
what ?
This is how my sda's looks:
>Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
> /dev/sda8 256667 29732 213683 12% /
> /dev/sda1 23302 2711 19388 12% /boot
> /dev/sda6 1786760 816072 879924 48% /home
> /dev/sda5 1786760 357520 1338476 21% /usr
> /dev/sda7 256667 6650 236765 3% /var
I got two SCSI harddrives, 2GB each, in the box. How can I know how many
lun's I've got? And how can I know the mapping of the sda's and the
luns?
Need badly some guidance regarding usefull utilities etc.
