Hi All
I am hoping somebody has the information I need to configure a HP SureStore
Dat drive 2000i for redhat 6 Linux.
I know this is getting off the track a little, but this has been a problem
I've been trying to solve for a while.
The tape drive appears to be installed ok as I can address the unit (tar
-cvf /dev/nst0 *) and it goes through the motions for 2 or 3 minutes then
returns an error.
This error refers to the Media recognition system, the tape drive has 8 dip
switches on the under side of the unit. I have been to the HP web site to
try to find some information re: dip switches and managed to get some help.
The first 2 switches control the compression the 3 and 8 th switch control
the MRS system. unfortunately it doesn't cover the 4th to 7 switch.
Has anybody got one of these units working using Linux ?
I think I am very close to solving my problem and I think these switches my
be the answer.
Thanks
Dennis
Good luck to everybody for the Festive season.
