remote printing

I've never been able to get remote printing to work.  I follow the
instructions in the books using printtool and setting up a hosts.lpd
file on the system with the printer attached.  Both systems are Linux
6.1 systems.  The local printer systems works fine.

I checked the printcap file and it looks just like the one in the
instructions.  The error msg is:

Error reason: lpr: connect: Connection refused jobs queued, but cannot
start daemon.

Also, I set up the hosts file for both systems.
Does anyone have any ideas?
