If this is not the appropriate list please advise.

I have RH5.1 and am trying to install Gnome. Have downloaded the RPM's from the
gnome.org site but having got some dependency errors used the -force and -nodeps
switch which allowed the process to continue.

Do I need to upgrade 5.1 to 5.2? how do I get Gnome working on 5.1?
If you need any additional info let me know
