iomega ZIP250 parallel Port Drive

 I am trying install the  iomega ZIP 250 Parallel Port Drive onto RH6.1

 When I tried to make the module (imm.o) I got error message during the "make" -
 "Makefile:15:  /usr/src/linux/.config: No such file or direcrtory
   Makefile:39: ***missing separator. Stop"

  Does anyone know what the "/usr/src/linux/.config" is supposed to be? HOWTO says
this driver works fine for ZIP250 PPD under linux (not mentioned anything about
"make").
  Am I missing something here?
