RE: 6.1 Workstation installation. Destructive?

I did the workstation install -- much faster than the custom installs! -- and applied all the updates I could find at rufus.org.net.

Everything seems to be working, aside from the usual hassles (ugly font problems in Netscape, and no sound).

I recall reading that someone was working on Aureal sound drivers. Has anything been heard on that end of things? I kinda miss sound... :(
