If u have only one harddisk and only install Linux as an OS, the 1024 thingy need
not concern u I believe.

I suppose this option thing is the MBR(know that?). Makes sense that u choose to
install it on the first partition of the disk rather than the second option which
is to choose the linux parition(should be equivaent but u neber know).

Any chance of disabling or yanking out the pcmcia sockets?/ Is this pcmcia thing
your network card that u use to install linux thru? I've seen your post quite a
bit so I suppose u know most of this stuff.
