Modules (parport)

Hi, 

I was hoping someone could help me out with this.  I have upgraded to kernel
2.2.1 following the standard process (make dep, make clean, make bzImage,
make modules, make modules_install).  Anyways all this went well, but when I
looked closely I noticed that parport was no longer working.  I was getting
this error:

parport.o: unresolved symbol parport_probe_hook_R891dd800
parport.o: unresolved symbol parport_parse_irqs_R3102da15
(there are more that follow this)

I haven't changed my conf.modules when I went from one kernel to another.
Can anyone give me a clue at where I went wrong.

BTW:  I get the above errors over and over again (it shows up in my syslog
file)
