There are two Linux server on my LAN, one is called sh-proxy(RedHat 2.0.36)
,another is called sh3(Linux 2.2.1 kernel). I installed Xwindows + KDE on
sh3 server, and sh-proxy is acting as a Linux print server,I also add sh3 to
/etc/hosts.lpd on sh-proxy.
I set the following references in /etc/printcap on sh3
---------------------
lp1:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp1:\
:mx#0:\
:sh:\
:rm=sh-proxy:\
:rp=lp1:\
:lp=/dev/null:
----------------
After I print with Staroffice 5.0 or Netscape Communcator on sh3,
I got some strange characters on HP 6L laser printer on sh-proxy, like
---------------
%!PS-Adobe-3.0
%%BoundingBox: 54 72 535 761
%%Creator:Mozilla (NetScape)HTML-->
-------------
I have to do 'lprm - -Plp1' on sh-proxy console to cancel the print job.
because the printer never stop . help!!!
Thanks
Jephe
