Try to use RHL 5.2 and don't use the "super" low resolution. Sometimes extreme resolution doesn't work well in the first time use. I recommend for you to use medium resolution as 800 x 600.

RHL 4.2 have many problems with XWindows without patches. You can be sure with version 5.2.
