Oddball SCSI card?

Hello.
I have a scsi card what is for a UMAX scanner and I wonder
if it would be possible to drive a Zipdrive with it.
Except for the fact that I did not see any such card supported
(I don't think I did) within the "supported hardware" dept.
I got it for free from a buddy of mine who did not need
the card that came with his scanner because he already had a
scsi connection.
I have windoze drivers for it, it is a "DTC3181X/DTC3151X SCSI"
Host Adaptor.
Under windoze it is listed as "SCSI controllers" BUT, I
don't know if it will understand Zip.
My buddie thinks it will because it's a SCSI interface.
I, being a tech-nerd don't know for sure, as I have nothing
connected to it, I think it's self-terminating, because
windoze can recognise it without anything connected,
I have nothing to connect to it.
I will look at RedHat's site again just to make sure.
The install proceedure was not able to detect the
card via probing, and hung or quit if you tried to
tell it that it was another card, in the event
that this card is a "clone" of any of the cards listed.
Thank you.
