Re: Redhat with a UPS

There is another UPS software package called genpower, which is what I am
currently trying to configure on RH4.2. The *best* document I have ever
read on how to configure the UPS is from the genpower documentation, and
can be found at: www.lugor.org/ups/genpower.txt
It details what is exactly necessary to get your UPS functioning.
Apparently, it's not so much what UPS you have as what the monitoring
cable tells you and how. It's not easy to configure, but I do think it
has the most in-depth documetation on what you *need* to configure it.

PS: Does anyone else out there use genpower? I have it running, and it
seems to be setting the /etc/upsstatus correctly when the UPS loses line
power, but it isn't telling init to reread it and thus the machine
doesn't ever get the shutdown command. Has anyone run into this problem
before, or have any idea how to solve it?
