Xwindow problem

Hello,
I am using Linux RedHat 5.2
When i run the command "startx", the Xwindow opens, but all are freeze.
Nothing is working.
Then i close the Xwindow pressing Ctrl-Alt-Backspace.
On the screen there is the following line among others:
"xinit : connection to X server lost"

I ran the XF86Setup, but the problem continue.

Please, help me to solve this error.
