/boot 10MB at start of drive
/(root) 7.8GB (most of the rest of the drive really)
swap 128MB

Does this have some crazy pitfall? I know under Microsoft you have to think
in terms of partitions, but since there's a flat filing system isn't the
only reason for partitioning the same drive more than once for Linux
increased safety in the event of a crash?

Owing to problems getting NT to recognise my new boot drive (not loading
atapi.sys, I'm not sure what it loads but it doesn't recognise large
drives), I can't crack on with Linux yet, so getting these sort of
installation questions answered now's going to save me some time!
