Hi ,
Problems with tlan/network card:
Am banging my head against a very hard brick wall trying to set up a Compaq
proliant 800 as a Primary NS running Bind for my network. (Redhat 5.2)
I now have the tlan module compiled into the kernel and have set everything
for netconf.
Now at boot I get the message "TLAN: eth0: Link inactive, will retry in
10secs..." ?? This server will be a primary name server and I have set up
bind for this, but am unable to check anything because of the network card.
I have also tried passing most combinations of arguements at boot such as
ether=0,0,0x04,0x01,eth0
ether=0,0,0x10,0x08,eth0 etc...
I really want to make this card work, do you have any ideas on what might
be causing this message? Could it be my network config, bind or the tlan
still?
Muchly appreciated,
Ben Hiddlestone
