In your /etc/X11/XF86Config file you can set the virtual screen(?)
to a res that will allow you to auto-pan the window. I had to do
that for a old 640x480 color monitor and my laptop to allow me to
configure Netscape for it's "configuration" windows in "preferences"
are not scalable and I couldn't *reach* the OK (accept) settings
button(s) at the bottom of the pages in the setup.
