HI
I had calderalinux working with IP Masquerade but the harddisk crashed
so I am replacing with Redhat 5.2.
And I must say redhat has come a long way in 12 months, most impressed.
I can't get IP-MASQUERADEING working is my problem:
I have:
/etc/sysconfig/network
NETWORK=YES
FORWARD_IP4=TRUE
GATEWAY=
I think a un-set GATEWAY entry is ok as PPP sets a gateway route when it
starts.
I think my problem is the loading of the modules.
Under the caldera version I recompiled the kernel and added the code to
/etc/rc.d/rc.local as suggested in the Linux IP-Masquerade mini howto.
I am not so sure this is the way it should be done under redhat 5.2. I
get the feeling the modules are somewhere waiting for the magic command
to get things going.
Is there anyone who has done this and who can point me to a document or
offer suggestions on the right way to go about it.
Thanking anyone who can help in advance.
Charles Esson
