I'm running RH 5.2 with just two partitions, / and swap, and I' ve read
that I should have had more partitions. I have 2.7 GB allocated for
Linux. I don't know if you'd call it a Workstation or Custom
Installation according to Section 2.6 in the Official RedHat 5.2
Installation guide.
I'm the only user so I have no need for networking (except internet) or
providing for other users unless someone can advise me otherwise. I
like to experiment and try different things for the experience.
Section 2.7.5 discusses the subject of partitioning in generalities but
I'd like to have numbers to work with
What partitions and how large would you recommend for the 2.7 GB Linux
partition?
Is it safe to simply run an install over again and just make changes in
the current partitions? I have a few downloaded packages waiting in
root and I'd hate to lose them. If there's a danger of losing
something, is there a Linux command that I could use to move them to a
D: (hda4) partition that I'm using as a catchall and then bring them
back to Linux?
TIA
