Sound Blaster CD-Rom Parameters

Although I have searched the archives I have not found an answer to the 
problem I am facing.  I am installing 5.2 and I cannot autodetect my 
Soundblaster CD-Rom (its seems I am not the first).  Its a 486 box and I 
really don't want to go by an IDE CD-Rom.  What are the correct 
parameters for the installation of this CD-Rom.  I can't install Linux 
and its driving me crazy.

Can someone please help me?  It seems that this is not the first time 
this has occured on this list so I am sorry if I am being repetitive.
