Hey all..
In the past I have been able to create accounts with Numbers in front of
the name. Now when I use either linuxconf or useradd or adduser in Xwin or
just plain text mode I receive errors.
For example. When I type adduser 30johnson
or useradd 30johnson
I always receive an error stating invalid username '30johnson'
In linuxconf (both Non-X and X) I receive password not set errors and note
that the account was never created. I have already created 2 accounts with
#s in front over 3 months ago. These accounts have a 41 and a 46 prior to
their acct names.
Why can I not create users like this anymore? This problem exits in both
RHL 5.1 and 5.2?
Ideas?
If I were to create an acount called johnson30 it works. So I find this
VERY perplexing.
Anyhow ideas etc all welcome. Thanks much!
TIA,
-dan
