Hi;
I have the official boxed RH5.1 cd. I am trying to get ppp working.
When I type 'pppd', or 'ppp-on' as root I get 'This sytem lacks
support for PPP'.
So I compiled a new kernel, all went fine, enabled ppp. I still get
the same message.
'rpm -qa | grep ppp' gives 'ppp-2.3.3-6'
'usr/sbin/pppd version' gives 'pppd version 2.3 patch level 3'
I have read The ppp howto, the Five-Minute Linux PPP HOWTO', and 'A
10-Minute guide for Using PPP to connect Linux to the Internet', as
well as this list.
The modem works under minicom, I tried netcfg under X and activated
ppp0, the modem dials in the background.
Appreciate some hints!
Mick M.
