Hey All,
I have been installing Redhat 5.2 for the last month, and just about have
it where I want it. I have a couple of issues I can't resolve and am
seeking help.
Re: Apache web server. I now can get to my site's home page www.xyz.com,
and that behaves fine, but I can't get any users' pages to show up.
Instead, I get a permission error. According to Apache's documentation and
the srm.conf file, the server should be looking for the users' pages in
/HomeDirectory/public_html, which is where they're at. The permission error
tells me the page is there (it's not a "file not found"), but the
permissions "should" be right. I've done chmod 755 on both the directory
and its contents. Any advice?
Re: Sound on OPL3-SX. According to documentation, my sound card should be
supported, but when I run sndconfig, it doesn't find the card. When I
manually point it to the OPL3-SA 2/3x Soundchip, it tries to set up, but
then returns:
The following error occurred running modprobe:
/lib/modules/preferred/misc/oplsa2.0: init_module:
Device or resource busy sound:Device or resource busy
I've seen questions on this list regarding opl3 sound cards, but I haven't
seen anybody describe setup.
I would very much appreciate any tips on fixing these problems.
Best,
Jim Elmborg
