Use the Fdisk found with your Linux install software to repartition the
disk. It'll delete everything in the process.

Just use the upgrade disk by itself and it'll ask for the '95 disk (for
verification only) and then install the complete OS from the '98 disk.
There's also something out there called "Win98 Lite"
Do a websearch, it'll turn up and you can read about it. A programmer
hacked the OS to essentially combine the best of 95 and 98 and get rid of
the worst.
