netscape gave up

running Netscape 4.5.1 with roadrunner in Tampa Bay.  Thinks used to
work fine, but suddenly Netscape can not connect to internet sites any
more.  However, I am connected to roadrunner and can ping
www.netscape.com, for example.
On leaving Netscape i get:
Warning:  /usr/lib/netscape/netscape-communicator
No response to the Save Yourself command. The program may be slow,
stopped or broken.
You may wait for it to respond or remove it.

I have to hit Remove Program, but thereafter it is still there.  BTW,
when I boot into win98 I can connect no problem.

Any ideas?
