Hm, I've just done a custom (as opposed to server & workstation)
installation of RH 6.0 which means I get only those packages that are
needed. After uninstalling and installing *only* the needed packages I
wanted i finally put in the dhcpd.. rpm to make my box deliver ip's for my
net. The daemon was also added to the boot-prosess.
Hm, It seems I am not able to fire up my dhcpd. My problem is that I do not
have the dhcpd.conf file in my /etc directory which the d is looking for.
Isn't this supposed to be installed too when i do a rpm -i dhcpd..rpm? Am I
supposed to make that file from the start? I don't have any problems making
such a file (got it started after some work) but when u install such a
deamon .. why isn't that file installed at the same time.. If I had choosen
the dhcpd package when I did my main installation of RH would it be up and
working (dhcpd) when I booted the machine the first time? I mean .. is there
any difference between manually installing rpm's opposed to choosing 'em at
first-time installation?
