I would suggest you update your dhcpd to the most recent version (2.0 final
release). The patchlevel6, which comes with RHL6, is a bit out of date. You
can find the rpm at ftp://rawhide.redhat.com/i386/RedHat/RPMS/.

Yes, you are ~:^) Imagine firing up the dhcpd process with some kind of
default config file... There is a sample config file in
/usr/doc/dhcp-2.0/dhcpd.conf.sample. You will also need an empty
/var/state/dhcp/dhcpd.leases file before starting dhcpd. I would also
recommend reading man dhcpd, man dhcpd.conf, and dhcpd.leases. HTH.
