Latest on emachines Video Settings?

I have not being using Redhat Linux for a while (I was trying to get
Caldera to work), so I have not been subscribed to the Redhat lists.
Has anyone been successful with video card and monitor settings for an
emachines PC under 6.0?

I installed the new version last night, hoping that there would be new
drivers that would make the equipment better matched to Linux.
Unfortunately, I cannot get it to work even as well as with 5.2! I
have tried at least three different combinations, but cannot get
anything to display at better than 8-bit 640 x 480. Worst of all, the
Gnome desktop is cut off on the edges and the monitor controls will
not reduce it any further.
