Hi all,
I have just recomplied my Kernel 2.2.9, and I keep getting this dang
message in the logs:
Modprobe: can't locate module lo (repeated 1-38 times)
Modproble: can' t locate module eth0 (repeated again)
(i have tried alias eth0/lo off in conf.modules....no go)
Now I have done this before and this has not happend, my networking still
works and everthing seems fine. All I added what ppp support in the kernel
on this build.
Question #1.
how do I fix this?
Question #2: (explanation answers appreciated!!)
Where do I read about all this module dependency stuff? The kernel README
mentions nothing about depmod, or conf.modules. Where can I find out about
this?
I used to do:
make mrproper dep bzImage modules modules_install
Now I came across this redhat article that said do a make install instead
of make bzImage
(why is this not documented in the kernel README? Nor do I ever see
anything about what is the proper thing to do with System.map depmod etc...)
any help appreciated!!!!
