I'm sorry. I misunderstood... :-( my fault.
One thing to check might be kernel support marked yes for module
   [*] Enable loadable module support
   [ ] Set version information on all symbols for modules
   [ ] Kernel module loader

Apart from that, what do you have compiled as modules?
