Hi, there:
I have a PC that experienced severe disk problem today
after a minor power problem. I have tried e2fsck which usually worked but
failed this time because of "superblocks with bad magic number". I have
looked at the FAQ
pages at relevant web sites and tried the common alternative superblocks
at 8193 (+every 8k blocks). None seemed to work.
My hunch is that the disk is there as shown with fdisk -l
however, somehow the superblock info is deemed corrupt by the kernel. Is
there any way to get around this without a reinstallation?
Tx
yao
