O.K.
I have ADSL at my home and I cannot get Redhat 6.0 to get the DNS IP
from the DHCP server (Cisco 670 router has DHCP server built into it). In
my /etc directory the file resolve.conf has one entry that says 'search'
and when I use linucconf it tells me that my resolve.conf file has an
error in it. If I hard code the DNS servers IP address on my machine
everything works fine. My question is... Why doesn't DHCP work straight
out of the box? or am I missing something. I know that the DHCP server on
the Cisco Router works well because I have several Winblows 95 machines
that work with the router..... I havre re-installed RH6 several times so
it is not a freek occurance. I have a standard 3Com Etherlink III card.
Any help appriciated.
-Matt
