Dialing IN to Linux

Hello All,

I'm currently running RH 5.2 and want to accomplish the following:

i'd like to be able to dial in to my modem and then execute a
time-delayed
shell script that will make my modem dial out and connect to
my ISP once I have hung up.  I don't need assistance on the actual
script
writing...just some help in actually setting up my modem/system so i can
dial in
and get to the command line.

does anyone know of any docs/resources that would help me accomplish
this?
