Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, installing from a Linux
partition and making the install image from dd did not work either. I
don't think the problem has to do with the file system, because the
install program was able to at least get the second stage ramdisk from
the RedHat/base directory from a fat 32, fat 16, and now an ext2 file
system. I get the exact same errors each time. I don't know why the
install program can't mount anything. I've tried everything--I'm
desperate!
