When it's set to a runlevel of 3, then Linux will boot into the shell. When
it's set to runlevel 5, Linux will boot into X-windows. In RH5.2, there isn't
an option for choosing run level during the installation so you have to set
this yourself. I thought they didn't turn it on by default so that people
could first test X11 manually and then enable it since otherwise if it's
set to do it automatically and your video card isn't setup properly, you
wouldn't be able to fix things through the shell. What made them change
their mind? Better video card support?
