Re: Mounting Fat32 Partition

When you mounted your win volume, did you use something similar to this: mount /dev/hda1 -t vfat /mnt/dos ? Assuming your win volume is hda1. I normally create a directory under mnt such as win98 then use: mount /dev/hda1 -t vfat /mnt/win98 . It works well for me...Hope this helps.

Subject: Mounting Fat32 Partition

Hi all! I recently installed RH5.2 and soon discovered my Matrox Millenium G200 AGP card isn't supported in this version of XFree 86, (I know I need 3.3.3.1-1). Linux is sharing my drive with Win 98, and I created the partitions for it with Partition Magic 4.0. I had the idea I could download the rpms I need into a Win file and then transfer them into Linux to install, as I understand Linux can access the Fat32 partition, (is this correct?). I used Disk Druid to set the mount points, and mounted the Win 95 Fat32 partition as /dos. However, when I try to cd /dos , ls -la  (as root) I get no output. Do both partitions need to be visible at the same time in order for me to access the Fat32? Or do I need to mount it differently? Or, is there another way I can download the rpms and get them into Linux? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
